Wilkinsburg Community Ministry – Perhaps you’ve heard of Quantum Theatre’s NearBuy program, in which the Theater partners with local businesses and provide matching funds that go alleviate food insecurity in our community. Quantum Theatre and the NearBuy initiative, generously funded by the Richard King Mellon Foundation, offers a unique opportunity for theater goers to continue exploring our city while supporting local businesses. Through the Food Coop’s partnership with them, WCM will receive a $1500 gift card to be used to purchase food (or anything else at the Coop) that we cannot get elsewhere. Ellie Helgen, the Community Coordinator for the Coop, says “I’ve seen firsthand the amazing and innovative work you’re [WCM is] doing with the food pantry, and the Co-op is very excited to offer WCM with a $1,500 Co-op gift card that you can use to stock the pantry with anything you haven’t been able to get from other sources.”
