If you don’t have tickets: Tickets to our recording of The Current War, available June 12 – 27 are also available here. Join the waitlist by signing up here. See below for information about $40 rush tickets, available each night pending availability.

The Current War tells the story of the rivalry between Pittsburgh’s own George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison at the dawn of the 20th century. With a turn-of-the-last-century aesthetic, this world premiere musical makes the metaphorical boxing ring battle between Westinghouse and Edison literal and electrified.

The first professional theatre production in the region since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Current War will be staged for small socially distanced audiences outdoors under a large tent in Westinghouse Park, and performed by a fully vaccinated artistic company.

The Current War runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

FAQs & Digital Help

How do I get there and where do I park?

Click here for directions. There is ample free parking around Westinghouse Park, especially along Thomas Boulevard, McPherson Boulevard, North Lang Avenue, and Murtland Street. Accessible parking spaces will be available at the park. Please be respectful of our neighbors.

What happens if it rains?

Thankfully, The Current War will take place under a large, covered tent which can endure some rain. However, if the rain is reducing audibility of the performance we will hold the show. If there is a need to cancel due to sustained heavy rain or severe thunderstorms make it unsafe to continue, we will reschedule guests into other nights with availability or provide refunds.

What if I get hungry?

Pre-show picnicking at Westinghouse Park is encouraged. Boxed dinners from our NearBuy partners will be available for all shows. Patrons attending between June 4 and 10 can place an order from Showcase BBQ using the form here. Each dollar spent will be matched as meal or gift certificate purchase distributed to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Packaged concessions will also be sold at each performance. Please note that no food or drink will be permitted under the tent.

Will there be an opportunity to watch The Current War online?

Yes! You can now purchase access to our recording, available June 12-27.

Do I need to print my tickets?
Nope! When you arrive, Quantum staff will be there to check you in. Just give the name of the person who purchased the tickets. And do us a favor if that’s not you – give us your name and email address at the check-in table so we can make sure you know about future performances.

How do I purchase a subscription for the season?

Subscriptions sales for Quantum’s 2021-2022 season are coming soon. We look forward to sharing all of the exciting projects of our 30th Anniversary with you. To be the first to know when subscriptions go on sale, please fill out this form.

I’m being asked for an access code for the landing page, what is it?

When you click the button in your confirmation email from boxoffice@quantumtheatre.com, your access code should automatically populate. However, if it doesn’t, that code is just below the button – look for the text that says “If prompted, use code…”

How can I make the video full screen?

If you hover over the video player, in the middle you will see an icon that looks like the four corners of a square. Click it to go to full-screen.

Can I watch this on my television via my existing media center, or my Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV Stick, Roku, or similar?
