The Collected Works of Billy the Kid, based on the award-winning book of poems by Michael Ondaatje, is a theatrical journey through the American West at a time when peace, violence, common sense, order and chaos were inextricably linked.
The devised production evokes the infamous outlaw’s life and thoughts, building suspense about his fate. The key roles of Billy the Kid and Sheriff Pat Garrett are played by multiple cast members - and in one case by a ventriloquist's dummy—to illustrate their many layers, and the work includes poetic monologues, a giddy dance number, plenty of violence, and Jemmett's signature mix of vintage pop music.
